Donnie and Franklin looked out from the cliff at the exploding tower of Season 4. A dark cerulean sky giving way to a hopeful sunrise. They watched as the tower lit up with thousand tiny explosions, like stars being born and then dying in the night sky. Finally, the tower exploded in a column of fire. The two breathed a sigh of relief. They had won. They had persevered. They had made it through.
"Do you ever notice that that happened a lot in like sixteen bit video games?" Donnie said.
"Yeah, to like a lot of bosses," Franklin said. "It must hurt a lot."
"You know what really hurt? This season."
"Yeah, but it's done. It's over."
